Michael Calvelli has been an investment professional since 1983 working with some of the nation’s leading investment firms and custodian banks. He spent over twenty years with Pershing, the investment banking division of Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette, working with large independent broker-dealers.
When Pershing was acquired by Bank of New York Mellon, Mike served as Director of West Coast Operations specializing in relationship management and business development. He went on to co-found and serve as President of Sorrento Pacific Financial, LLC providing investment and insurance services to community banks across the country.
Since joining Protected Investors of America in 2011 Mike’s investment advisory practice has focused on providing highly customized portfolio strategies that reflect each client’s unique circumstances, objectives, sensitivity to risk, and personal values. He works collaboratively with clients to bring clarity and confidence to financial decisions in an ever-changing economic environment. He is dedicated to diligent research, disciplined wealth management, and exceptional client service. His ultimate goal is to provide each client with the framework for financial peace of mind.
In 2016, Mike was a member of the Board of Directors which guided the successful merger between Cambridge Investment Research and Protected Investors of America. He now manages the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) for Protected Investors at Cambridge. Both his investment advisory practice and his OSJ continue to grow.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Friend’s House, a retirement community. He has served on the board of the Independent Association of Financial Planners and the Association of Western Securities Management. He has also been a past member of the Investment Advisory Committee at the Community Foundation of Sonoma County, the Financial Planners Association and the National Independent Broker Dealers Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Northridge, and attended the prestigious Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike lives in Sonoma County with his wife Melissa. He has two daughters, Katelyn and Angelina. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, cooking for his family, and taking his dog on hikes.

Rich Bonk has been an investment professional since 1985 working with two of the nation’s leading financial services institutions.
He spent the first twenty years of his career with Pershing, the clearing division of the investment banking firm Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, working with large independent broker-dealers, where he was ultimately responsible for the Western region relationship management and business development team.
In 2005, Rich moved to *Fidelity Investments to lead the Western region sales team for their clearing organization – National Financial now referred to as Fidelity Clearing and Custody Solutions (FCCS). After leading the Western region business development efforts for 10 years, Rich ran the Western region Relationship Management team.
In March 2018, Rich joined Michael Calvelli’s wealth management practice as a Partner with a keen focus on the Northern California OSJ - Protected Investors of America.
Rich has been a member of the Independent Association of Financial Planners, Financial Services Institute, Association of Western Securities Management, Securities Operations Association, Financial Planners Association and the National Independent Broker Dealers Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St John’s University in Queens, NY and completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Rich lives in Burlingame, CA with his wife Malea and their three children Sophia, Vincent and Nolan. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, reading, playing an Italian card game named Pedro and all Bay area sports teams.
